Why the results look different
Gamma builds slides from its own layout blocks, which is why it's fast and fully editable in its editor — your photos go in as they are. BetterPPT designs each slide as a full visual composition first and then rebuilds it as an editable PowerPoint: slower, but it can re-compose your photos and use visual treatments a block layout can't. The tradeoff is where you edit: in Gamma's browser editor, or in the .pptx you download from BetterPPT.

Is BetterPPT a good Gamma alternative?
For high-stakes decks, yes: it designs each slide individually, reworks your photos and keeps your content as written. Gamma is faster, cheaper and easier to edit afterwards, so for everyday decks Gamma may be the better fit.
Can Gamma redesign an existing PowerPoint?
Yes. Gamma 5 imports a .pptx and can keep the original layout or restyle it. In our test it kept nearly every figure, but rewrote headlines, added a “So what” line to each slide and a photo label that wasn't in the source — review the text before you present.
