This Privacy Policy explains how BetterPPT collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website and AI slide redesign service. We keep this page practical and readable so you know what happens to your decks.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to provide the service, secure accounts, process payments, and support users.
Account information such as your email address, user ID, and sign-in status when you use Clerk to log in.
Uploaded .pptx files, slide images, generated previews, redesigned files, and design notes created for your jobs.
Basic usage data such as job status, page count, browser fingerprint and IP address for rate limiting, timestamps, and error logs.
Payment status, checkout identifiers, and receipt-related details from Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
Messages you send to support, including your email address and any context you choose to include.
How we use information
We use information to run BetterPPT and make the product reliable. We do not use your deck content to train AI models.
Create before / after previews, regenerate slides, and prepare downloadable .pptx files.
Apply quotas, unlock paid downloads, send payment events, and prevent duplicate or abusive usage.
Detect technical failures, prevent abuse, protect accounts, and troubleshoot storage or processing problems.
Respond to support requests and help recover or diagnose a specific job when you ask us to.
Use aggregated, non-content product metrics to understand reliability, performance, and conversion.
File storage and deletion
Your decks are stored only for the periods needed to provide preview and download access.
Unpaid jobs are automatically deleted after 7 days, including related uploaded and generated files.
Paid jobs are kept for 1 year so you can download the result again.
You can delete a job from your account. Some backups or logs may take a reasonable time to fully expire.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to operate the product. They process information only as needed to provide their services to us.
Examples include Clerk for authentication, Supabase for database and storage, Stripe for payments, Inngest for background jobs, hosting providers, and AI/image providers used to process slides.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and security, or to investigate abuse.
We do not sell your personal information or deck content.
Security
We design the service with privacy and security in mind, but no online service can promise perfect security.
Files are transferred over encrypted connections, stored in private buckets, and accessed through account-scoped or service-role workflows.
You should avoid uploading highly sensitive, regulated, or confidential materials unless you are allowed to use BetterPPT for that content.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of personal information.
You can sign in to view your jobs and download or delete available results.
You can ask us to delete account or job data that is not needed for security, legal, or payment records.
Email support@betterppt.com to make a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
International processing
BetterPPT is an online service and may use providers in different countries.
By using BetterPPT, you understand that your information may be processed where we or our service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.
Children
BetterPPT is not intended for children.
Do not use BetterPPT if you are under 13, or under the minimum age required by your local law to use online services without parental consent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as BetterPPT changes.
When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
